Botox, or botulinum toxin, was originally developed and used to treat muscle spasms. However, over time researchers realized that it could also be used for cosmetic purposes. In 2002, Botox was approved for cosmetic use by the FDA. Since then, Botox has increased in popularity and has become the number one facial aesthetic procedure in the United States (according to the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons).

Dr. Hoefflin primarily performs Botox treatments to reduce the lines and wrinkles on the forehead, between the eyebrows, around the eyes, around the lips, and on the chin. Our Los Angeles and Beverly Hills Botox treatments work by blocking signals from nerves to muscles so that the muscles are not able to contract. Thus, when injected around the forehead, eyebrows or other areas of the face, it causes wrinkles to relax and diminish. The results are dramatic. Patients look younger, less tired, and more refreshed. Results are visible a few days after treatment.

All patients receive complimentary anesthetic numbing cream and post-injection ice compresses. Botox injections typically take about 15 minutes. There is no downtime or recovery associated with Botox, and patients are immediately able to return to their regular routine.

Occasionally Botox patients experience mild redness or swelling. These side effects usually subside within a few hours. Sun exposure should be avoided until any redness or swelling has subsided.

Our professional offices charge $250 per area treated or $10 per unit. Each of the following are considered one area: forehead, glabella (area between the eyebrows), crow’s feet (area around the eyes). We offer an introductory price of $200 per area for new patients on their first visit. Dr. Hoefflin also uses Botox as a treatment for hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating). When treating areas underarms, palms), the Botox unit price applies.

“I’m a 42 year old mother who has been receiving Botox treatments for several years. I selected Dr. Hoefflin as my plastic surgeon because of his reputation for attention to detail. I have a very expressive face but wanted to avoid the frozen or “surprised” look. My goal was to obtain a completely natural, but youthful result. Not only did my wrinkles fade, but Dr. Hoefflin was able to subtly elevate the corners of my eyebrows, making appear even years younger. Needless to say, I am very pleased with the results of my Botox.” – KH
